(Hampden Township PA): Last night, 149 members of the Cumberland County Republican Committee held a reorganization meeting at the Good Hope Fire Hall. After presentations from all nominated candidates and extensive vetting by the committee, Capozzi received the majority of votes cast and became the county party’s new chairman.
Mr. Capozzi has served as a Republican Committeeman, has lived in South Middleton Township for almost twenty years, and been a committeeman since 2010. His leadership in Republican politics began in 1987 when he founded and chaired Philidelphia’s Center City Young Republicans. Lou received his Juris Doctorate from Villanova Law School in 1986; he is the President and CEO if Capozzi Adler, P.C. He and his wife, Shelley, have been married for almost twenty years. They have four children.
Lou was honored to have earned the votes and trust of his fellow committee people and vowed not to let them down. “Cumberland County is a great place to live and work because we act on the Republican principles of limited government and personal responsibility,” said Capozzi. “There is a lot of work to be done to fill the open committee spots and grow our registration advantage, but I was born to do this, and I can’t wait to get started”.
Unity was the theme of the evening as officials from Speaker of the House Mike Turzai, Senator Mike Regan, and Representative Greg Rothman all talked about the success the Cumberland County GOP has had over the years and the importance of working together to continue to elect Republican candidates locally, county-wide, across the state, and around the country.
“We have important races in the fall, and Cumberland County is going to be key in the reelection of President Trump in 2020,” Capozzi emphasized.
